Back in 2021, Tom from Cranley Barn put a call out in a Facebook group asking if anyone fancied growing vegetables on the farm. I'd spent a couple season working on other people's market gardens and was itching to start my own, so I answered. Together we picked out a patch of arable land that had been growing rye, I put up my first polytunnel, laid out my no-dig beds, and in 2022 I sold my very first veg box. Liberté Market Garden was born.
Today I grow fresh, seasonal, no-spray veg for homes across Milton Keynes. You can get a weekly box delivered to your door, collect one from Cranley Barn Farm & Shop, or come and say hello at local markets and village fayres. Whatever's at its best in the beds that week goes in the box.

To protect and build our soil, our market garden operates on a zero-till, deep-compost mulch system (no-dig). This method allows us to transform former arable land into a vibrant, high-intensity market garden without ever turning over the earth.
Building on a decade of no-till soil management, our fields are teeming with earthworms, beneficial fungi, and a thriving soil ecosystem—the foundation of truly nutrient-dense food.
